Great question, Doug. I think we have to start by not rewarding leaders for the wrong behavior. Currently, there are media outlets that reward extreme politicians who stoke hate and fear. They give them a voice and platform to become celebrities. The leader then uses that celebrity to increase power and cause more entrenchment…and so on and so on. But we are a part of the problem too. We give those leaders airtime. We share and retweet their posts. We watch the shows that feature the most extreme, divisive characters in politics. Again, it comes back to us. What behaviors are we willing to change to take our country back?
